Recording hours and keeping play slips, essential actions!
It often happens that an employee files a complaint regarding the non-compliance with the provisions of the Decree without being able to demonstrate his or her claims in detail. The role of the Committee is to investigate and claim the amounts due from the employer, but it must be able to demonstrate that there has been a breach of the law.
A good management of your hours worked versus your hours paid make it easier to support your version of the facts if it differs from your employer’s version. Unfortunately, many files are closed for lack of evidence.
Several tools exist that allow you to record your hours. If you fill out time sheets or use a punch system, always keep a copy. You can also use a calendar or one of several online tools available for timekeeping. Finally, if your pay slips are accessible via an employer portal, keep a copy for your records.
